The Seahawks got the win on Sunday Womens Frank Clark Jersey , but most fans, analysts, or anyone watching with a normal sense of good football vs bad football, feels that Seattle only got worse against the Cardinals. That could come from just a gut feeling you had watching the offense struggle to get the ball more than a few yards downfield at a time, but advanced metrics will back your feelings up on that.Once the kings of DVOA (first overall from 2012-2015), the Seahawks have now fallen below the very middle of the pack. The Seahawks were 14th in DVOA last week after their decent win at home over the Cowboys, but they’ve fallen to 19th as we approach Week 5. That includes a number six ranking on defense, but almost every expects that to tumble with the loss of free safety Earl Thomas for the rest of the season; Seattle is ninth against the pass and surprisingly enough, tenth against the run. However, they’ve faced the fifth-easiest schedule of offense so far, per DVOA.That will change at home on Sunday against the number one ranked offense of the LA Rams. The Rams are first in passing efficiency and fourth in rushing efficiency. They are ninth on defense by DVOA, including seventh against the pass and 23rd against the run; only fueling Brian Schottenheimer’s fire to keep the ball out of Russell Wilson’s throwing hand.Seattle is 24th in passing and 22nd in rushing. My instincts told me that the Seahawks must have some advantages on special teams, and that is actually true: Michael Dickson is first in punting efficiency and by a fairly wide margin. However, Seattle is in the negative on every other phase of special teams except for punt returns, where they are just above average. They (Sebastian Janikowski) are one of the worst field goal kicking teams in the league so far.Overall, the Seahawks are 14th in special teams, but they could be bottom-five without Dickson. The Rams, long hailed for their special teams prowess under John Fassel, are just 17th in that category so far and Johnny Hekker+punt coverage is only just above average. The Arizona Cardinals were rumored to be moving on from Steve Wilks after only one season prior to their game against the Seattle Seahawks anyway, but Seattle’s 27-24 victory over the Cardinals surely didn’t do him any favors during a 3-13 season. Sure enough, the Cards did fire Wilks on Monday Jason Myers Jersey Green , less than 24 hours after the game. Also fired this week have been Marvin Lewis of the Cincinnati Bengals, Adam Gase of the Miami Dolphins, Vance Joseph of the Denver Broncos, Todd Bowles of the New York Jets, and Dirk Koetter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns also have vacant head coaching positions based on firings earlier this season. The Packers fired head coach Mike McCarthy following a Week 13 loss to Arizona, which was two weeks after a Thursday night loss to the Seahawks helped solidify that Green Bay was going to miss the postseason barring a miraculous finish. Seattle also shutdown the Minnesota Vikings in Week 14, a win loss for the Vikings that made it clear that the Seahawks would likely be a wild card, and they fired offensive coordinator John DeFilippo the next day. The Vikings missed the playoffs on Sunday after losing to the Chicago Bears. The Carolina Panthers also fired two assistant coaches roughly eight days after a loss to Seattle again sent the teams in opposite directions. As of now, that makes three NFC head coaching jobs available, with the Panthers standing by Ron Rivera, the Vikings by Mike Zimmer, and Washington by Jay Gruden. More jobs could potentially become available, but with this much competition for head coaching candidates already in the mix, it might not be the best timing. How many good head coaching candidates are there out there really? Consider that the Bears are 12-4 in their first season with Matt Nagy, the LA Rams are 24-8 in two seasons under Sean McVay, the LA Chargers are 21-11 in two seasons with Anthony Lynn, and the Indianapolis Colts are 10-6 in the first season with Frank Reich. Change can be good. But hirings like those of Gase and Bowles also drew high praise, while Reich was an afterthought in the carousel last season, so predicting which outcomes will be positive is night impossible.I would doubt that Seahawks defensive coordinator Ken Norton gets much attention if based on the strength of Seattle’s defense this season, unless someone gives him credit for doing so with so many pieces of the puzzle missing. The Rooney Rule does mean that each of these eight teams must interview a minority candidate, but there are also many worthy minority head coaching candidates Dontae Johnson Jersey , which could include interviews with the recently-fired Lewis, Joseph, Bowles, and Hue Jackson, along with former Seahawks defensive coordinator Kris Richard; I would expect Richard to get an interview before Norton.Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer could also have his phone ringing based on a season that saw Russell Wilson throw a career-high in touchdowns while Seattle led the NFL in rushing. The difference between Schottenheimer and Darrell Bevell, who never got a serious look as a head coach? Probably name. But there also more nuances to human beings than that and it’s possible that Schottenheimer is just a better interview, a more charming person, or more impressive in being able to display knowledge of the league. That’s not to say that he is any of those things, I’m just throwing out random examples of what could help a candidate, but if Schottenheimer gets a head coaching job it would not be all that surprising to me.I have no idea what the relationship was like when it ended, and that the fans might hate it, but perhaps a reunion with the Jets, where Schottenheimer was OC for six years, including two AFC Championship game appearances and a top running game, could make sense. I’d think it would be better to pair Schottenheimer with a young quarterback who is already there, rather than an unexciting veteran (Ryan Tannehill, Andy Dalton), and working with Sam Darnold might be in his and their better interest. Just a thought. Or maybe the Cards would like him to take a closer look at their offense while sharing Pete Carroll’s secrets. They’re on the lookout as well and the competition for coaches should be heavy.

According to Packersnews.com, head coach Matt LaFleur will likely hold an interview with Frank Pollack, who served as the Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive line coach last season.Pollack is searching for a new job following the Bengals’ firing of Marvin Lewis. Interestingly, Bengals players and fans appeared to think very highly of Pollack — starting running back Joe Mixon among them. In a since-deleted tweet, Mixon said the following:Meanwhile, Josh Kirkendall of Cincy Jungle noted that the Bengals’ rushing success skyrocketed in 2018, thanks at least in part to Pollack’s arrival. Cincinnati ran for just 3.6 yards per attempt in 2017, but that number increased to 4.7 this fall.In addition to those numbers, one statistical metric found Pollack to be a top-five offensive line coach in the NFL. Justis Mosqueda looked at the sacks and tackles for loss in the run game allowed by a coach’s lines over his career J'Mon Moore Jersey White , relative to the league average, summing them up. As of the writing of his article in early December, that analysis put Pollack as the league’s fifth-best O-line coach, among those employed in that role at that time. When looking at Pollack’s history prior to going to Cincinnati, it’s clear to see why his numbers are so good and why teams (and players) would view him in high regard. He coached the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line from 2013 to 2017, serving as assistant OL coach for his first two years before earning a promotion in 2015. While in Dallas, he helped a group of highly-drafted talent achieve their potential by becoming one of the league’s best lines. Pollack’s first stint as the primary offensive line coach came in 2012 with the Oakland Raiders, and before that he worked for the Houston Texans, where he and LaFleur worked together under Gary Kubiak. The Packers are also scheduled to interview 49ers assistant OL coach Adam Stenavich for this position, with additional interviews possible in the coming days. The Packers still hold ten picks in the upcoming draft, however."The full order of selections for the 2019 NFL Draft is officially set. The league sent NFL teams this year’s list of compensatory picks on Friday afternoon Womens Lance Kendricks Jersey , locking in all of the selections in their official and final slots. As expected, however, the Green Bay Packers did not receive any compensatory picks for 2019. The Packers had received at least one comp pick in each of the last nine drafts, with 2009 being the most recent year they did not have any. This is a result of the team’s decisions during the 2018 free agency period, when they signed more qualifying free agents than they lost. Jimmy Graham was the team’s biggest signing, which more than canceled out the loss of safety Morgan Burnett to Pittsburgh. The Packers did acquire a pair of day-three draft picks in trades during the 2018 season, however. They hold Washington’s fourth-round selection as compensation for trading safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, and they picked up the Seahawks’ 6th-round pick in exchange for backup quarterback Brett Hundley. Those picks are in addition to an extra first-round pick that they added from the New Orleans Saints during last year’s draft. Here is the final list of the Packers’ draft picks:Round 1, pick 12 (#12 overall)Round 1, pick 30 (#30 overall) Round 2, pick 12 (#44 overall)Round 3 Womens Jason Spriggs Jersey , pick 11 (#75 overall)Round 4, pick 12 (#104 overall)Round 4, pick 16 (#108 overall) — from WashingtonRound 5, pick 12 (#140 overall)Round 6, pick 12 (#185 overall)Round 6, pick 21 (#194 overall) — from SeattleRound 7, pick 12 (#226 overall)

Saturday Night’s Alright For Commenting: June 23 http://www.thetexanslockerroom.com/authe...oby-jersey , 2018 Back on Memorial Day, I went on a trip up to the East Coast. The focal point of it was going to see The Gaslight Anthem play the ‘59 Sound in its entirety. They were my favorite band until they broke up...sort of. They mutually went on hiatus. There hasn’t been any new music from this group since then, aside from side projects the drummer has smashed away on and Brian Fallon’s pretty good folksy/Americana songs. I don’t know what that means, but if I had to guess that’s what Americana music would be. The reason for this tour is simple. This August is the tenth anniversary of the ‘59 Sound. So to celebrate, the band got together again and played the album in its entirety, along with some other hits. This is my favorite album of all time. It came out in 2008. I fell in love with this band in 2009. I had a friend in high school who loaded up my iPod with, like, 3,000 songs off his computer. At the time I still listened to the same alternative music I grew up listening to on 99.5 KISS. That radio station has been playing the same songs—and still does to this day—that they played in 2002 when I was slaying Code Red Mountain Dew and monsters in my father’s bedroom during his weekend. Bush, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine...yeah, man...that’s the stuff. I had no idea at the time there was music out there that wasn’t on the radio that was any good. Sure, I knew it existed. There were thousands of CDs at Half Price Books and CD Exchange I had never heard of. I just assumed it was all terrible because it wasn’t on the radio. Then I went to some parties where they played music I had never heard of; it was jolly and different and fun to sing along to Womens Derek Newton Jersey , so refreshing to my wasted frontal lobeless brain. We’re Having a Party is a very fun song to listen to when you’ve had 11 underage Natural Lights. After that, I started going through this iPod, A-Z. I just chewed through album after album. The first time I got to ‘G,’ I played Sink or Swim. We Came To Dance came on. I almost drove my 1994 Oldsmobile off the road clicking the wheel and swirling around to see what this song was called. From there, that was it. They have a song about the first time listening to the Clash: I heard it like a bullet from my skull to my brain, I felt my fingertips tingle and it started to rain, I think that’s how the lyrics go, but anyways, that’s what it was like. The Gaslight Anthem was also the favorite band of a lot of my friends. We would go to parties and come home alone. My roommate would play the guitar and we would scream like a bunch of alley cats, howling like wolves on some crusted ironic t-shirt. So many nights ended like this. When things were miserable, pretty good, or truly beautiful, no matter what, the nights ended with an acoustic guitar and hollering Womens Jay Prosch Jersey , healing scabs, adding to the jubilation. When I saw this band play this album last month, the BIG thought that came into my head, was that these aren’t their songs, but our songs. They were professionals playing the hits. Solemn with slight smiles. Hats pulled down over brows. Head down playing solos. We played the same chords. We sang the same words, with some things changed on purpose and some on accident. Everyone else around us screamed the same words while they played our songs for us.These songs were their songs too. ANYWAYS, if you want to go for a drive, listen to the radio, think about Maria, and how you’ve always wished you were somebody else, here is the link. They even came out with demos of the album week. If you want some more, Robert Mays at the Ringer wrote an oral history on this album as well. The rest is yours to talk about whatever you want, Texans-related or not. Just remember the standard commenting rules apply. I think it’s something every Texans fan knows needs to be addressed this offseason."Yesterday, Football Outsiders published a list of one daring offseason move each NFL team should make. Some of them were truly bold Trevor Daniel Jersey White , like the Chiefs trading for Patrick Peterson, the Colts trading for Antonio Brown, or or the Patriots offering multiple second and third round draft picks to the Bengals for A.J. Green.Others proposals were less shocking and more realistic, albeit unlikely to happen, like the Giants cutting Eli Manning.I’d like to say what FO suggested for the Texans was truly outside the box, but I cannot. Here’s the single “daring” move they offered for your Houston Texans:Sure, it’d be neat if the Texans entered September with a new starting set of cornerbacks.Realizing that position group is in dire need of reinforcement this offseason isn’t exactly ground-breaking.While I admit the last line about trading Whitney Mercilus, even if it’s something that’s been bandied about by some in the fan base for awhile now, would qualify as a surprising move, I doubt it’s on Brian Gaine’s radar. With that, I’ll open the floor up to discussion. What would you suggest as a truly daring move the Texans could—or should—make this offseason?

Brown appears to be a better fit for the Packers than his teammate Bart Starr Jersey , D.K. Metcalf."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections The APC PodcastPackers Film RoomFantasy Football AdviceCDTShareTweetShareSharePackers will host Ole Miss WR A.J. Brown on a pre-draft visitChristopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY SportsD.K. Metcalf may have made the biggest noise at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine among all of the University of Mississippi players, but he has another teammate worth knowing about. While Metcalf was posting an incredible 4.33-second 40-yard dash at 6-foot-3 and 228 pounds — along with impressively poor agility scores — fellow wideout A.J. Brown was quietly posting a solid workout of his own.Brown, who measures in at 6 feet 1鈦? inch and 226 pounds posted a solid 40 time of his own, running in 4.49 seconds, while his 36-inch vertical and 10-foot broad jumps represent good numbers as well. However, it is his 6.89-second time in the 3-cone drill at Ole Miss’ Pro Day on Friday that looks particularly impressive. That’s a better number than the results posted in Indianapolis by smaller, seemingly shiftier receivers like Andy Isabella and Terry McLaurin.Currently, most projections have Brown as a borderline first-round pick, which could put him in play when the Green Bay Packers are on the board at #30 or #44 overall. As such, the team is reportedly doing their homework on the two-time 1,000-yard receiver; NFL Network’s James Palmer reports that he has a pre-draft visit lined up in Green Bay in the coming days.A young player Za'Darius Smith Jersey , who turns 22 in June, Brown was the Rebels’ leading receiver in each of the past two seasons — beating out Metcalf, who is projected to be an earlier draft pick. In fact, Brown nearly doubled Metcalf’s production in 2017 and 2018:Brown, 2017: 75 receptions, 1,252 yards (16.7 YPR), 11 TDsMetcalf, 2017: 39 receptions, 646 yards (16.6 YPR), 7 TDsBrown Womens DeShone Kizer Jersey , 2018: 85 receptions, 1,320 yards (15.5 YPR), 6 TDsMetcalf, 2018: 26 receptions, 569 yards (21.9 YPR), 5 TDsOne notable issue here, however, is that Metcalf played in just seven games in 2018 after dealing with injuries.Still, for what the Packers tend to like in their receivers — good change-of-direction ability — Brown would seem to be a better fit. Metcalf’s 3-cone times (7.38 seconds at the Combine, 7.25 at Pro Day) likely rule him off the Packers’ board entirely. Meanwhile Womens Brett Hundley Jersey , Brown’s production and combination of athletic traits make him an interesting possibility for the Packers late on day one or early on day two of the 2019 NFL Draft.Packers Game Balls: Rodgers & receivers lead Green Bay to an improbable victory For the first time in the franchise’s history, the Green Bay Packers won a game in which they entered the fourth quarter down by at least 17 points. Shocker: Aaron Rodgers was the biggest reason for that, and it should come as no surprise that he gets our nod for the first Game Ball in the 24-23 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. Here are a few players who deserve special attention for their performances in the opening game of the season.QB Aaron RodgersWho else could get the top honor? Rodgers was hamstrung by an ugly offense and playcalling early on before suffering his ugly knee injury early in the second quarter, but his return jump-started that moribund unit and led to the comeback victory. Playing the second half essentially on one leg, he finished the day 20-for-30 with 286 yards and three touchdowns — one to each of his top three wide receivers and all of which came in the fourth quarter. After the game, Rodgers told NBC’s Michelle Tafoya why he was so intent on returning to the game after halftime:“It’s the Bear-Packer rivalry. It would have to take something really catastrophic injury-wise to keep me off the field in the second half. I went in the locker room, did all the tests ... I knew when I got back on the field in the second half, the adrenaline (would) start going, I’d be able to hang in there.”He did much more than just hang in there. He led the Packers to one of the team’s most memorable victories in the last several years.WR Randall CobbCobb was responsible for the game’s biggest play, hauling in a pass from Rodgers over the middle on third-and-ten from the Packers’ 25-yard line and finding space to go the distance for a go-ahead, 75-yard touchdown. But that play was hardly Cobb’s only notable one in the game. Not including that play Womens Justin Vogel Jersey , Cobb still caught eight more passes for 67 yards, and he also served as the team’s punt returner with Trevor Davis inactive. Cobb only returned one of Patrick O’Donnell’s four punts, but he did so for seven yards and he provided sure hands on fair catches as well. All told, Cobb showed why he was the receiver the Packers kept instead of Jordy Nelson, as he served as Rodgers’ security blanket for much of the game.OLB Nick PerryThis isn’t awarded for a full-game performance, Perry didn’t play a ton, as Reggie Gilbert took a number of snaps on the edge, but late in the game he effectively sealed the deal. After a Clay Matthews roughing the passer penalty wiped out a critical fourth-down stop with the Packers up 24-23, Perry came up with a strip-sack of Mitchell Trubisky on another essential fourth down, all but locking in a Packers victory. Perry had a total of five tackles, including that big play.Honorable mention: RT Bryan BulagaYes Blake Martinez Jersey , I’m going there. Yes, Bulaga struggled to block Khalil Mack in the first half, particularly when DeShone Kizer took over for Rodgers in the second quarter. But after halftime, Bulaga largely kept Mack in check, as the superstar pass-rusher didn’t get much pressure on Rodgers at all in the final 30 minutes. Bulaga’s ability to hold up one-on-one during the Packers’ comeback was essential to the success of said comeback.

Report: Lions ‘hopeful’ Ezekiel Ansah can play vs. 49ers after MRI on shoulder On Monday Damon Harrison Jersey White , the optimism surrounding the Detroit Lions’ pass rush lasted an entire quarter. Ezekiel Ansah and Devon Kennard each picked up a sack early and gave rookie Sam Darnold some heat in his debut. However, Ansah went down with an injury after just 19 defensive snaps, and the Lions’ pass rush vanished. They wouldn’t record a sack for the rest of the night.Head coach Matt Patricia didn’t provide an update on Ansah’s shoulder injury after the game and he said his equivalent to “check the report” during Wednesday’s press conference. But a report from Adam Schefter suggests the Lions got good news regarding the Lions’ best pass rusher. According to Schefter, an MRI revealed that Ansah did not suffer a significant injury and the Lions are “hopeful he can play” against the 49ers this weekend. Last week, the Lions had only five defensive linemen active against the Jets, so Ziggy’s importance to the team cannot be overstated. In Ansah’s place, the Lions mostly played Kerry Hyder against the Jets, but that limited his ability to also play on the inside in some packages. Ansah makes the entire defense better, there’s little doubt about that. However, if he can go, how effective will he look? We’ve seen an injured Ansah out there before, and it hasn’t been pretty. At this point, though Womens Graham Glasgow Jersey , the Lions don’t really seem to have any better options.10 things we learned from Detroit Lions 2018 training camp The Detroit Lions 2018 training camp has ended, and although head coach Matt Patricia says that doesn’t change much in terms of the day-to-day schedule for the team during the preseason, it does mark the end of our daily observations from the team. So let’s reflect on the past three weeks and see what, if anything we’ve learned about the team. Here are 10 things I think I’ve learned over the course of over a dozen practices and two preseason games.1. We may have been a little hasty in crowning the offensive lineThis has to be the biggest takeaway from camp this year. Though we have yet to see much of the presumed starting offensive line working together thanks to injuries to T.J. Lang and Graham Glasgow, it’s become abundantly clear that the Lions’ depth isn’t even what we expected it to be. Adding Tyrell Crosby, Kenny Wiggins and Wesley Johnson was supposed to add both youth and experience to an offensive line unit that lacked anything resembling depth in 2017. With injuries already taking a toll on the offensive line again, Detroit’s depth has been tested and it has looked awful through all of August.2. Marvin Jones Jr. could be even better than last seasonLast year, Marvin Jones pulled in 1,101 yards and nine touchdowns, which were easily career highs in the 28-year-old’s career. Based on his play this training camp, he could push those numbers even further this season. Jones has easily been the Lions’ best receiver in camp, and in a way, he’s slowed the Kenny Golladay hype train a bit. While Golladay is expected to make a jump from Year 1 to Year 2 Miles Killebrew Jersey , I think Jones could make a serious run at being considered a top 10 receiver after watching him in camp this year. After all, he had the ninth-most receiving yards last year.3. The Lions’ backfield is more talented than it has been in a long timeIf there is one position that has lived up to the offseason hype, it’s running back. Rookie Kerryon Johnson has shined throughout all of camp and into the first preseason game. Theo Riddick continues to display his value as a receiver and pass blocker. Ameer Abdullah flashed his speed and explosiveness in the first preseason game. And we saw LeGarrette Blount blow through some poor run blocking late against the New York Giants. It’s a versatile group, and each player brings a unique set of tools to the table. If the offensive line can get their act together this year, this set of players could be really exciting to watch in 2018.4A. A’Shawn Robinson’s trajectory may not be headed upA’Shawn Robinson went from clear starter to rotational player to potential roster bubble player. Robinson was playing well into the fourth quarter of Friday’s game against the Giants, and while you don’t want to read too much into that, Robinson’s performance has justified some late-game appearances. He was immediately usurped by Ricky Jean Francois, and while I doubt Robinson’s place on the roster is in danger, that has to be considered a huge disappointment for a second-round pick in his third year. 4B: Ricky Jean Francois was a hugely underrated signingNot only has Francois jumped into the starting lineup already, but he has been seen on a near-daily basis coaching up his teammates on form and technique. With young guys like Robinson and Da’Shawn Hand littered across the defensive front, Francois’ addition could pay dividends in the future. 5. Frank Ragnow was probably the right pickOn the other end of the Bob Quinn draft pick spectrum, his selection of Frank Ragnow with the 20th overall pick continues to look better and better as each day goes on. He hasn’t been perfect—what rookie is?—but he has been not only one of the most consistent offensive linemen, but one of the most consistent players in that entire locker room. 6. The Lions need a new backup quarterback in 2019You’ve heard it and seen it by now Womens T.J. Jones Jersey , the Lions’ backup quarterback situation is a mess. Jake Rudock seems to have reverted to his scared, check-down form we saw his rookie year. Matt Cassel is just not the answer this late in his career. The Lions may get away with riding one of those players for the 2018 season, but Detroit needs a long-term quarterback that can step in if the worst happens to Matthew Stafford. They don’t need to do something drastic this year, but drafting a passer in the fourth round next year shouldn’t be out of the question. 7. Devon Kennard is going to be a key piece to the defenseWe’ve only seen Kennard for about half of camp thus far, since he started the month on the Non-Football Injury list. However, it’s clear the Lions have big plans for him.Throughout camp, I saw both Matt Patricia and and defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni pull Kennard aside and work with him individually. And we’ve seen Kennard put in several different situations in his limited work. Though mostly he’s been used as an edge pass rusher, he’s getting a fair amount of reps as a coverage linebacker and Detroit isn’t afraid to throw him in there on obvious running downs. 8. There is reason to be concerned about Jarrad DavisIt’s not time to call it a career on the Lions’ 2017 first-round pick, but there’s plenty of reason to be skeptical about his development. Davis has shined as a run defender both in camp and the preseason, but we already knew that much about him. The real concern has always been his coverage ability. It’s why the Lions took him off the field in third down situations last year, and it’s why the Lions should be worried headed into 2018.Davis’ blown coverage against the Giants obviously got a lot of play among the Lions fanbase, but this has been a consistent struggle throughout training camp. I spent a lot of time over the past three weeks watching Davis and the linebacking crew try to cover running backs and tight ends, and Davis stands out as one of the most consistently bad players in coverage. Remember Darius Slay Jersey White , Davis is a guy the Lions aren’t planning on taking off the field very much at all this year. This is a passing league first, and because Davis doesn’t bring much in terms of pass rush either, he better show some improvement in his coverage game quick.9. Don’t expect a ton from Lions tight ends this yearFor the past four years, the Detroit Lions tried like hell to make Eric Ebron an integral part of their offense. Each year, Ebron saw more targets than the year prior. But now with Ebron gone to Indianapolis, the Lions may not be relying on the tight end position so heavily in the passing game. Through three weeks of practices and games, none of the expected top three tight ends have emerged as consistent receiving threats. If the hopes were that Michael Roberts or Luke Willson would become a bonafide starter capable of pulling in 50 catches a season, expectations were probably too high to begin with. But it would surprise me to see any of these guys pull in over 35 receptions this year, and that include Hakeem Valles. 10. The Lions kickoff returner camp battle is far from overJamal Agnew? Ameer Abdullah? Kerryon Johnson? Teo Redding? Brandon Powell? The Lions have had Ameer Abdullah listed as their first-string kick returner on their unofficial depth chart for three weeks running, and the fourth-year running back has been getting those opportunities in preseason, but he has not looked very good in the role thus far. Detroit has given just about everyone a chance at this role this offseason and there isn’t a standout among them. While Teo Redding and Brandon Powell have probably looked the most consistent at the position, it’s not clear whether they bring enough to the table to warrant a roster spot. And we really can’t get a handle on this camp battle considering it’s still unclear how the new kickoff rules will change the position.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Ryan Tannehill tried to give his receiver a little more time to get open Womens Boomer Esiason Jersey , but Geno Atkins was having none of it.The Bengals tackle closed quickly and smacked into the Dolphins quarterback as he released an incomplete pass to Kenny Stills.Just the start of a long day for Miami's overmatched blockers. Atkins had two more sacks and three quarterback hits during Cincinnati's 27-17 win on Sunday that was the direct result of the Bengals' defense. Tannehill was sacked twice in the fourth quarter and had three turnovers, including an interception and fumble that were returned for the decisive touchdowns.Atkins was in the middle of it, forcing Tannehill to stray from the pocket and become vulnerable to hits that led to the turnovers."He's unbelievable," first-year defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said. "On one sack he beat the guy so fast I don't know what you ask the quarterback to do. He just does stuff you don't teach." Atkins has six sacks in five games, tied with the Texans' J.J. Watt and the Steelers‘ T.J. Watt for the league lead. No other interior NFL lineman has more than three sacks. The Bengals (4-1) host the Steelers (2-2-1) on Sunday in an important game for the AFC North.A victory would end Cincinnati's run of six straight losses to the Steelers and provide a cushion — the Bengals have already beaten the Ravens (3-2) at Paul Brown Stadium. A seventh straight loss to Pittsburgh would leave the race wide open.Atkins has made the biggest impact on a defense that leads the league with three returns for touchdowns. He's off to one of his best starts after getting a four-year contract extension through 2022. His best season was 2012, when he had 12½ sacks and forced four fumbles. His 67 sacks rank third in franchise history and are the most by a Bengals interior lineman. Atkins has led NFL interior linemen in sacks three times and tied for the lead twice. His push from the middle of the line forces quarterbacks to throw early or scramble out of the pocket, making plays break down."Geno had quite a few collisions with the quarterback (on Sunday)," coach Marvin Lewis said. "He knocks him down Ryan Glasgow Jersey White , and he stays on his feet. That's a good way to do it, I guess. He can do it with that kind of velocity."Atkins is a leading example of how shorter defensive linemen can get through and around much bigger blockers. The 6-foot-1, 300-pound tackle can use his signature "bull rush" move on linemen who aren't set for it, driving them backward into the quarterback.Atkins is one of the quietest Bengals, declining interviews and saying little during team meetings. After he signed his contract extension, Atkins said during a rare media session that he realized early in his nine-year career that his size can be a big advantage in the NFL."Short, stocky, strong guys — we have the leverage Womens Jeff Driskel Jersey , strength and power," Atkins said. "The bull rush is really my will against your will."Austin came to the Bengals from Detroit, where Ndamukong Suh created problems for blockers in much the same way. He appreciates how Atkins can force offenses to change their blocking plans."He just can wreck the game," Austin said. "It's like when I had Suh in '14. You can't single-block the guy. And if you do, you do at your own risk. He is tenacious. He's got different moves. He's strong. He's quick. Boy, he's fun to watch."The only thing he doesn't do is talk very much. Concluding his media session after the contract extension, he said he would slip back into his customary silence."I'm not that interesting to talk to," he said.MORE PRIME TIME: The Bengals' game at Kansas City on Sunday http://www.thebengalslockerroom.com/auth...ond-jersey , Oct. 21 was moved to prime time, giving Cincinnati a pair of night games this season. The Bengals beat the Ravens 34-23 on Thursday, Sept. 13. The Chiefs now have six night games this season. The Bengals are 6-14 in prime time since 2011, including 0-5 on Sunday, 2-5 on Monday, 4-3 on Thursday and 0-1 on Saturday night.ROSTER MOVE: The Bengals waived running back Thomas Rawls, a fourth-year player who signed as a free agent on Sept. 19 after Joe Mixon suffered a knee injury. Mixon returned on Sunday. With multiple coaching openings coming and a Super Bowl-winning coach available immediately, one of the more intriguing stories in January will be the destination of Mike McCarthy. On Monday Jordan Willis Jersey White , Peter King wrote in his column that he hears that McCarthy “likes Arizona and would be interested in exploring the job.” Of course, that job currently is occupied. Come Monday (or Sunday night), it may not be.Despite his past accomplishments, McCarthy has been criticized in some circles (including this circle) for not doing more with one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. How will Aaron Rodgers do without McCarthy? How will McCarthy do without Rodgers. We’ll definitely get an answer to the first question; we’ll probably get an answer to the second one.McCarthy surely will get multiple interviews, if he wants them. And he’ll likely get one or more offers, barring a disastrous interview process.Still, the primary concern with McCarthy will continue to be whether his offensive is sufficiently creative and diverse to thrive in today’s NFL, which features plenty of creative and diverse offenses. Some teams may hesitate for that reason alone. Which Jake Fisher Jersey , in all fairness, is a pretty good reason for hesitation.

Have the Buccaneers found their free agent safety target after all?"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections 2016 NFL DraftInjuriesFree AgencyGame FilmReport: Deone Bucannon to sign with BuccaneersNew Anthony Nelson Jersey ,43commentsHave the Buccaneers found their free agent safety target after all?EDTShareTweetShareShareReport: Deone Bucannon to sign with BuccaneersSteven Bisig-USA TODAY SportsAs the legal tampering period took off, some big names were snatched up quickly for some big money. Lamarcus Joyner went to the Raiders for 4 years and $42 million with $16.7 million in guarantees. Tyrann Mathieu and the Chiefs came to an agreement on a 3 year deal worth $42 million and Eric Weddle settled on a deal with the Rams to replace Lamarcus Joyner in the secondary for 2 years and $10.5 million. With big names flying off the proverbial shelves, Bruce Arians and company looked to a familiar face to help out the secondary here in Tampa Bay. Details on the contract have not yet been released but it will be interesting to see the numbers for the former first round pick turned hybrid linebacker/safety this past season. Bucannon has seen some serious trials and tribulations as a player since his best season back in 2015. Either way, Bucannon will be reunited with Arians in Tampa Bay. With their hire of Bruce Arians, the Buccaneers have gotten a lot of buzz in the last month. Having a proven coach has quickly rejuvenated Tampa Bay’s fan base, even if there are still holes on the roster to fill in the coming months. It’s been an exciting time for the franchise Anthony Nelson Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jersey , but the hype around Arians might not be enough for everyone to overlook the team’s other issues. On Monday, ESPN.com’s Bill Barnwell projected Vegas win totals for each NFL team in 2019. For the Bucs, he set the over/under at 6.5. He addressed the team’s 3-6 record in one-possession games last year, but did note that Arians had a record of 29-12-1 in such games during his time with the Colts and Cardinals. But here’s where Barnwell has concerns about Tampa Bay in 2019: There are a few things to unpack there. Starting with the Jameis Winston point, I’m not sure “unreliable” is the right word to describe him. Inconsistent? Sure. There have been plenty of inconsistencies in his game, but he took significant steps forward down the stretch of last season. Heading into 2019 with Arians as his coach Womens Anthony Nelson Jersey , Winston should be in a good position to succeed. As far as being “unreliable” off the field? It seems that his issues are behind him. Remember, the incident that caused his three-game suspension this past season happened in 2016. He is now a father and has often stated that he needs to be an example for his son. Overall, Winston feels out of place in terms of the rest of Barnwell’s concerns. The defense is a legitimate concern, even with the addition of new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles. The front seven has the potential to be pretty solid, but there is a ton of work to be done in the secondary. Brent Grimes is gone and Vernon Hargreaves III might need to work exclusively in the slot, so Tampa Bay has to fill that other outside corner position. The unit could also use help at safety. The defense is a problem right now Anthony Nelson Tampa Bay Buccaneers , and yes, the rest of the NFC South might be positioned better for postseason runs in 2019. Specifically, the Saints and Falcons should both be very good next season. It’s fair to say that the defense and the difficulty of the division should be concerning. But with the talent on offense and some new voices in the locker room, the Bucs should be stronger in year one under Arians. Now, it might not necessarily be time to put deposits down on playoff tickets. The team isn’t quite there yet. But with that being said... Hammer the over.

Through the first half of the 2018 season Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson has amassed 497 yard on 111 rushing attempts in spite of missing a game and a half due to injury. Those numbers have already far exceeded the numbers of any running back in recent seasons Tre Flowers Jersey Green , and give him a somewhat realistic shot at a one thousand yard season, depending on his health over the second half of the year. It’s that last part that may be most worrisome. In recent seasons Seahawks fans have become accustomed to seeing running backs miss time due to injury, with the team having trotted out a parade of backs. The Hawks have had 18 different running backs carry the ball over the past three and a half seasons, and that number does not include carries by fullbacks Derrick Coleman, Tre Madden or Will Tukuafu. Including those three means that Seattle fans have seen rushing attempts by 21 different players in the time since the ill-fated goal line interception in Super Bowl XLIX, and Chris Carson’s 2018 season is already one of the best seasons for any of those 21 ball carriers in that time frame. In fact, just to put how unreliable the Seahawks running backs have been since the start of the 2015 season, here’s a list of the top fifteen seasons by a running back for the Hawks during that time period. Seahawks RB seasons since 2015Season RankPlayerSeasonAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryTouchdownsSeason RankPlayerSeasonAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryTouchdownsThus Russell Wilson Jersey , if the season were to end today, Carson’s 2018 season represents the second most rushing yards by a Seattle running back since the Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots, as his 40 yards on eight attempts against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday pushed his season total past that of Christine Michael’s 2016 total of 469 yards. What is troubling, however, is that Carson has been on and off the injury report with a hip issue of some kind for the past six weeks, following his 32 carry effort against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3. Following that Herculean effort by Carson against the Cowboys, he then missed the Week 4 game against the Arizona Cardinals, before playing against the Los Angeles Rams and Oakland Raiders heading into the bye week. He then played against in Detroit coming out of the bye Doug Baldwin Jersey Green , however, his hip injury forced him out of the game against the Chargers, and he logged zero carries after the midway point of the second quarter. To me this says that he is nursing an injury that could require several weeks of recovery, as he’s already had separate weeks off, and the injury does not appear to have fully healed either time. Obviously we will know more when the first detailed Week 10 injury report comes out later today, but for Seahawks fans who have grown wear of seeing their running backs on the injury report over the last several seasons, this seems like a case of deja vu all over again. Today is not the first day Russell Wilson has set a deadline to sign a long-term contract with the Seahawks. Before signing his current contract, Wilson set a deadline of July 31 C. J. Prosise Jersey Green , 2015, and told the Seahawks that if the sides didn’t reach an agreement by then, he’d simply play out the season and decide what to do in free agency in 2016.That ended up working out: On the morning of July 31, Wilson announced that he was signing a new deal. Sometimes a deadline prods both sides to get something done. Now Wilson has another deadline, and he’s apparently ruling out ever signing another long-term contract with the Seahawks if they don’t give him the deal he wants by the end of the day today. The clock is ticking, and there seems to be pessimism about a deal getting done. But the clock was ticking when the deal got done last time, too.

Gragg last saw game-day action with the Buffalo Bills in 2015, but went the New York Jet’s training camp in 2017. His season didn’t get going with the Jets due to being placed on IR in early September. After a nice 2017, Celek turned in a disappointing 2018 as far as receptions and yards are concerned. He had five catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Even though the lack of production could have been due to a thumb injury Womens Mitch Wishnowsky Jersey , it might not be a bad idea to look for a second tight end in the Draft, but the 49ers have pressing needs at safety and cornerback.
